LOGO ON THE PGA TOUR!!!!

I've just been told by a client that a logo I made for them (see below)

is gonna be used as a SPONSOR logo for this year's PGA TOUR!!

You heard it right, the PGA TOUR!!!!!!! Awesome-sauce!

I didn't get to acquire the player's name, but the logo will be placed

on his trusty bag of clubs. Will update this soon once I get full details.

For now, let's just savor the god damn moment. Life is good, sometimes.

Also, I've been doing a lot of branding work lately, so I'll post some soon.

EXTRA BUTTER NY!

As a sneakerhead, one of my pet peeves is surfing for online shops

and blogs that offer any information on sneakers/streetwear for that matter.

I've come across this BEAUTIFUL site called EXTRA BUTTER ny.

As the name suggests, their affixation for suede is obvious, but they also stock

some awesome colorways of jays, some phat reeboks, rad mishka items

and a very updated vans collection, along with some sneaks for the missus.

I recommend everyone to visit the site, there is bound to be something

for everyone there; I'm sure to be purchasing some items from them very soon.

This was my entry for Paoks Pattern Contest.

"THE GOLDEN RATIO"

The Golden Ratio is what we call an

irrational number: it has an infinite

number of decimal places and it never

repeats itself. Generally, we round the

Golden Ratio to 1.618.

It has also been used aesthetically as a unit

of measurement in greek architecture and

perceived as a proportion which exemplifies

beauty, perfection, and balance through

symmetry.

Patterns or tilings reflect the basic

mathemathical properties of the golden

ratio as tesselations ( irregular shapes or

combinations of shapes that interlock

completely to cover a surface or plane.)

This design comes from this principle

and that the idea that mathemathics and

art both converge in a manner that is

naturally pleasing, based on a natural order

or law as described by the golden ratio.

this certain balance also reflects the belief

of yin and yang, or the idea of equity/balance

of things, both dark (as the grey areas) and

light elements (as the gold/orange areas); of

which the most basic notions are the ff.:

-good and evil

-life and death

-love and war

these topics are identified as contrasts.

these contrasts are emphasized through the

use of different colors and elements which

all come together in such harmony to

achieve perfect balance, both as an aesthetic

and as an ideological IDEA.

VISUAL DESIGN CONFERENCE

The south is getting excited to be part of the phenomenon called "VISUAL", a design conference targeted towards the lower half of the country.

With speakers that specialize from web to contemporary apparel design, who wouldn't want to be a part of it?

answer? petty USC-TC fine arts noobs who think they know shit. hypocrites i tell you, hypocrites.

they say the tix are too expensive when they own a mac, any ipod model, cars, and DSLR necklaces. yep, real DSLRs used as necklaces just so they can be baptized as "artists".

anyway, the design conference happens on Nov. 28, 2009 @ SM cinema 1.
